Phoebe Heard is daughter to Rod Heard – business leader in Calgary with expertise in governance and strategy. She is also granddaughter to Lois and Dick Haskayne, best known for their philanthropic work. Phoebe first started her career path off in business going to the Haskayne school of Business for her Commerce Degree. Although gaining valuable knowledge throughout her degree, Phoebe did not find herself fitting in or feeling passionate about her career choice. Upon graduating, Phoebe decided to change her career path and pursue her passion of makeup and fashion. She then went to Artists Within Makeup Academy to study makeup and became a full time makeup artist. Two years after graduating, she is now working as the Studio Head of Artists Within, instructing makeup classes and running the studio. Outside of the academy, she is pursuing her love for fashion by working as a makeup artist on editorial and commercial photoshoots. Phoebe has high hopes to make a name for herself in the international editorial world as a makeup artist one day! Phoebe’s family has been a huge drive in her career – although she took a more unconventional route than the rest of her family she finds great inspiration and motivation in the work ethic and values that her family has taught her and continues to demonstrate. She is so thankful for her family’s support throughout her journey and hopes to encourage others to pursue their dreams even if it means changing career paths and stepping outside of your family office!
